Tips for Choosing a Good DJ | Print |

We believe that we are the best value for a quality DJ. We invite you to compare us with our competitors and expect you'll agree. We know that many DJ's out there will beat our prices, but often times at the cost of a priceless evening. Whether you choose Cloud 9 for your DJ or not, here are some points to consider before hiring ANY DJ. Remember that saving $100 or two and having your reception end early due to a poor DJ is no bargain.

Will They Sign A Contract With You?
Once you choose a DJ, It Is Important to know that they will actually be there. A binding agreement (in writing) ensures that both parties are protected.

Do They Have Back-Up Equipment And Staff?
Equipment and cars break - people get sick. Should an accident or emergency arise, is there a backup plan or is your event just over? Would a refund even do you any good once the big hand reaches "start" time?

Do They Have Liability Insurance For Your Protection?
Nothing can ruin an occasion more than an injury - followed by a lawsuit if (perhaps) something large & heavy should fall on someone (or you). Who’s responsible?

How Much Experience Does The DJ Have?
Experience dictates the quality and effectiveness of a DJ. Make sure your DJ has YEARS of experience in doing the type of event your booking them for.

Is Everything Included Or Are There Hidden Costs?
Many companies get your attention with a low rate, then upcharge you for light packages, background music, or other basic things that you'll need!

Do I Have Control Over The Music?
If you're paying for the service, make sure your needs will be met. Ask if you can choose your music ahead of time and have input thereafter.

Are They Members Of Any Professional Associations? If not, WHY?
Professional trade associations offer benefits, discounts, training, and assistance to their members AND show you they've at least met the standards & criteria set forth by an independent arbitrator.
